The KR series Subsoilers manufactured by BDT-AGRO LLC are designed for deep subsurface tillage with an ability to simultaneously till the top and middle soil layers as well as to undercut weeds. The KR subsoiler is a multi-purpose tool (3 tools in one) and can be used as a chisel plow as well as a stubble plow, or a field cultivator. This means that this tool can perform the following three operations with the same working element: subsoiling (chiseling) at a depth of up to 35 cm, cultivating (including over stubble) and subsoiling (simultaneous cultivation) with cutting and breakage of soil and crop residue at a depth of 5–20 cm.
The KR series cultivator is used in various agricultural climate zones and for all types of soils, including those vulnerable to wind and water erosion, except for stony ones. The KR cultivator is an efficient tool for treating space between rows in gardens and vineyards, renovation of degrading grasslands and grazing areas.
The subsoilers manufactured by BDT-AGRO have the following advantages:
1. DEEP PENETRATION OF TINES INTO SOIL
The installation angle and symmetric arrangement of the subsoiler tines provide fast and easy deep tillage even in very compacted soil layers. Due to a special profile and tilt angle, the subsoiler breaks deep soil layers and tills soil without turning it over.
2. LINEAR ARRANGEMENT OF SUBSOILER TINES
The two-row frame construction of the subsoiler provides the distance between the tines, which guarantees efficient and uniform soil breakage and undercutting of crop residue, with significant fuel saving.
3. HIGH-STRENGTH STEEL WORKING ELEMENTS
Heat treated (quenched) points and side cutters, as well as teeth and scrapers of the subsoiler`s toothed roller are manufactured from high-strength wear-resistant steel. They break soil, undercut and grind crop residue with a minimal force.
4. EASY HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT OF SUBSOILER SIDE CUTTER
The multi-position (4 levels with a 5 cm pitch) setting of the subsoiler side cutters allows adjusting a cultivation depth of the topsoil layer within a range of 5 to 20 cm, with simultaneous deep soil tillage at a depth from 25 cm to 35 cm. In this mode, the side cutters shall be installed in the top position.
The subsoiler design allows maintenance, re-setting, and adjustment of the side cutters directly in the field.
5. TILLAGE DEPTH REGULATION WITH A TOOTHED ROLLER OR PRESS WHEELS
The operation depth can be easily controlled by means of the rear toothed roller or press wheels of the subsoiler. The toothed roller increases soil porosity on the surface contributing to moisture penetration and air saturation of soil.
The KR series subsoilers are supplied with a depth adjuster.
Depending on the soil condition, the tool can be fitted with press wheels, slatted, helical slatted or helical wheels instead of the toothed roller.
The slatted and helical slatted wheels manufactured by BDT-AGRO are designed so that a bar enters into the soil in a near-vertical orientation, and leaves the soil nearly horizontally. As a result, it digs, cuts ridges and levels the field surface properly after the tool passage.
When treating loose soil, for instance in tillage operations, when the wheels fall through and are clogged with the soil, the wheels shall be turned 180°. In this case, the bar will be laid down on the soil horizontally, and moved out of the soil vertically, thereby increasing the wheel support surface; the wheel will grab less soil, and its clogging will be reduced.
